Training

At Tros Gynnal Plant we pride ourselves on being able to provide learning that’s specifically atuned to the Welsh perspective on children’s rights, advocacy and related fields. Our training function has developed considerably over recent years and we are now able to offer both informal and accredited courses developed and delivered by experienced trainers to meet your specific requirements.

Our courses use blended learning to ensure that all learning styles are catered for incorporating group work, individual reflection, tutorials, workbooks and many other approaches as appropriate. We aim to deliver all training with a relaxed, informal approach without moving the focus from the learning outcomes of the course.

All accredited courses are deliverable using our ‘Learning Assistant’ e-portfolio system which cuts down on the use of paper resources and greatly reduces the need for travel by learners and tutor/ assessors, thus keeping costs down for the customer. Using ‘Learning Assistant’, learners can receive immediate feedback and sign-off on their work and managers can receive regular updates on progress. Working together the Tutor/Assessor, manager and learner can maintain motivation and ensure that appropriate support and guidance is available at every level.

Course Titles

  • Introduction to Advocacy (Agored Cymru Level 3 – 2 credits)
  • Independent Advocacy with Children and Young People (City and Guilds Certificate)
  • Formal Advocacy – Advocating for children and young people as part of a wider role (Agored Cymru Level 3 – 7 credits)
  • Recognising and Responding to Signs of Abuse (non accredited)
  • Children’s Rights for Professionals (non-accredited)

Some courses are currently being run as open courses.
